Alan Kabat Co-Writes an Op-Ed for the Huffington Post

Trump's wrongful ban on an entire religion brings with it the pain of a long history of stereotyping of Muslims, and it reminds other religious and racial minorities of the discrimination they too have endured at the behest of their own government.On December 8, 2017, an op-ed co-written by Bernabei & Kabat partner, Alan Kabat, and Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law president and executive director, Kristen Clarke, was published in the Huffington Post. The article titled, "The Supreme Court And Stereotyping - Why The Justices Must Reject The Muslim Ban" calls for the Supreme Court Justices to not allow common stereotypes to sway their opinions when deciding on the Muslim Ban cases. The article goes on to discuss the history of stereotyping in public opinion and its long-lasting effect on court decisions including Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v. Ferguson, Brown v.
