How We Think

We believe, as Frederick Douglass so eloquently stated in 1857, that "If there is no struggle, there is no progress" and that "Power concedes nothing without a challenge. It never did and it never will."

We are deeply committed to working for social justice by providing high-quality legal representation to individuals, groups and causes that have been underrepresented in our legal system. And in the venerable tradition of civil rights attorneys who have fought valiantly before us, we are dedicated to working with our clients to challenge existing power structures and institutions to try to force them to operate in nondiscriminatory and equitable manners.

We understand the impact that an employment dispute, hostile work environment, or other civil rights violation can have on an individual and on our society as a whole. We believe that working to right such wrongs is more than just extremely gratifying work — rather, it's essential.

That is what makes Bernabei & Kabat, PLLC, different: our experience, perspective and commitment. Also, our view of the world: personal, empathetic and real world.
