Kelsey Speyer joined Bernabei & Kabat as a Civil Rights Litigation Fellow in September 2022.  Mrs. Speyer was promoted to associate attorney in the Spring of 2023. Mrs. Speyer graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2022, where she served as a Senior Editor for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy. As a Research Assistant to Professor Irving Gornstein, Mrs. Speyer researched and analyzed merits briefings for the upcoming Supreme Court docket.

During law school, Mrs. Speyer worked for Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, where she researched and authored a 40-page Report and Recommendation. She also spent a summer as an associate at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, working on civil rights litigation issues spanning from predatory debt collection to anti-militia protections. During the school year, she externed at the Department of Justice Civil Rights division, in both the Disability Rights and Immigrant and Employee Rights sections. In her final year at Georgetown, Mrs. Speyer was a student attorney for the Georgetown University Civil Rights Clinic, where she drafted a summary judgment motion and conducted depositions in an employment discrimination case, and represented an appellant in oral argument before the D.C. Circuit.

Mrs. Speyer graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University in 2017 with a B.A. in Legal Studies and Psychology.
