Stephanie Tait joined Bernabei & Kabat as a Civil Rights Litigation Fellow in September 2024. Ms. Tait graduated from the American University Washington College of Law in May 2020, where she served as a Note & Comment Editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy & Law, and President of the Law Revue. She also served on the Executive Boards for the Women's Law Association and If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice. As a Student Attorney in the Gender Justice Clinic, Ms. Tait represented women seeking assistance navigating family law, domestic violence, and housing conditions cases.
After law school, Ms. Tait served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Sigrid M. Tejo at the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, Division of St. Thomas and St. John. She assisted Judge Tejo in managing a civil and criminal docket and produced numerous memorandum opinions and orders. Ms. Tait also joined the music community in St. Thomas and regularly performed at open mic nights and events.
Prior to law school, Ms. Tait worked as an Account Manager for Shmoop University, Inc., an online education company that seeks to make test preparation and curriculum resources more accessible to students and teachers nationwide. She graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in psychology in in 2012.
