Experienced Employment Law Associate Or Junior Partner
Bernabei & Kabat, an employment law and civil rights law firm in Washington, D.C., is hiring for a mid-level Associate or Junior Partner with experience in employment law.
Our firm is nationally recognized for its expertise in whistleblower law, employment discrimination law, and civil rights and civil liberties matters.
We are deeply committed to working for the public interest by protecting the rights of women and minorities and those who fight against public corruption and in support of public safety and health. We work for social justice by providing high-quality legal representation to individuals and groups. Our clients come from all walks of life and across the labor market. For example, we represent workers seeking redress for their employers’ willful blindness to on-the-job sexual harassment, executives fighting sex and race discrimination at major U.S. companies, people with disabilities working in government agencies and at prestigious universities, and whistleblowers working for Fortune 500 corporations and nuclear facilities. Currently we represent a Metropolitan Police Department sergeant who is challenging jump outs by the D.C. police in Black neighborhoods, as well as high level government whistleblowers.
We litigate in federal and state courts and before administrative tribunals and arbitration panels.
Working at Bernabei & Kabat is an opportunity to learn from highly-experienced, well-regarded attorneys. Our founding partner, Lynne Bernabei, litigates employment discrimination, civil rights, and whistleblower protection cases. Alan Kabat writes and publishes frequently and is recognized by Super Lawyers and he has been recognized as Washington, DC’s Best Lawyer in Best Lawyers® for Labor and Employment Law. Our firm’s partners have appeared as commentators on national television and radio news shows, and in both print and online media about employment law and civil rights issues.

Attorneys have extensive client contact, participate in case development and strategy, and serve an integral role in our cases. We also nurture the attorneys’ professional development by encouraging them to attend seminars and trainings, seek out opportunities for publication, and become active in professional organizations focused on employment law and civil rights.
