Federal News Radio, Lynne Bernabei, Talk Whistleblowers in the Intelligence Agency
On July 2, 2014, Federal News Radio interviewed Lynne Bernabei about the new whistleblower statute that purports to protect whistleblowers in the intelligence agency.
Lynne explained that this new law will provide some additional procedures that agencies must provide to employees who allege that the agency took an adverse personnel action, including removal of their security clearance or revocation of their access to sensitive materials.
However, the new law still does not allow for any judicial review of the agency decision, nor does it cover employees of contractors in the intelligence community – two large loopholes that significantly limit its value.
