More Tenure Troubles at DePaul
MAY 27, 2011
The Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye website wrote about the rally at DePaul University, in which numerous students and faculty members gathered to protest the recent denials of tenure to numerous minority faculty members. The article also discusses the report of the American Association of University Professors, which found that one department expressed unwarranted hostility towards a tenure candidate. Both the internal review board and an outside independent review committee also found that this candidate’s academic freedom had been violated by DePaul.
