Whistleblower Client Featured in LA Times
MAY 30, 2013
The Los Angeles Times, on May 27, 2013, wrote about one of our firm’s clients, Cecelia Carter, who protested Fannie Mae’s refusal to address the problem of kickbacks that some of her coworkers and a manager were getting at Fannie Mae’s Orange County, California office. Instead of addressing her reports, Fannie Mae terminated her. However, the U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI soon determined that her colleagues were, in fact, demanding kickbacks for placing foreclosures with brokers who would give them a 20% cut of the commissions. Ms. Carter’s wrongful termination lawsuit against Fannie Mae is pending in California.
