Lynne Bernabei Comments on VA Secretary’s Expanded Authority

Lynne Bernabei was recently interviewed on Federal News Radio about a House bill that would give the Veterans Affairs Secretary much more flexibility to fire allegedly corrupt or poor-performing employees – not just top officials. The 2015 VA Accountability Act would expand on the authority of last year’s Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act, which made it easier to get rid of senior executives accused of wrongdoing. Lynne explained how this new legislation essentially does away with civil service protections for all employees at Veterans Affairs.
